"LIGHT THE PASSION; SHARE THE DREAM." That's the motto written on the Olympic Torch. Jesus lights the passion in our hearts that makes us want to share the dream -- the dream of eternal life that has become a reality as we welcome Jesus into our hearts and lives. Join us this Sunday, Feb 3 at 10:00 a.m. as we highlight the boys' club at Lucknow Community Church. Now, Pass it On!

THE BLESSING

One of the privileges of ordination is the authority to raise one's hands in blessing. Here I extend God's blessing to his people at the conclusion of my ordination service on Jan. 18, 2008.

Steroid shortcuts have a strong appeal for anyone looking for a quick means to achieve increased strength. This Sunday (January 27, 10 a.m.) we'll find a better source of power as we pray with the father of a troubled boy: "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief."
YOU are welcome to join us.

THE ORDINATION SERVICE

What an evening! On Friday, January 18 I was ordained as a minister of the Word and Sacraments. In the presence of many friends and family members I promised, before God, to serve him as pastor of the Lucknow Community Christian Reformed Church. Here's the program we followed. (I'll write more about this later -- I'm still basking in the glow of God's many blessings!)

An Ordination-Invitation

"After a favorable decision by this classis and with the concurrence of the synodical deputies, the candidate is hereby declared qualified for and is admitted to the sacred ministry of the Word in the Christian Reformed Church in North America."

So reads my new Classical Diploma! Ordination into the ministry and installation as the Pastor of the Lucknow Community Church takes place on the 18th, and I hope as many of you as possible will join us. The service begins at 7:30 p.m. Check our website at www.lucknowccrc.ca for directions. Pastor John Vanderstoep, my pastor from Cambridge, will do the ordination and Rev. Duane Kelderman, VP Admin at Calvin Seminary, will preach the message. RCA Pastor Henry Dekorte will offer the prayer and a number of others will bring greetings.

This morning my devotions cited a few words from Acts 26:17b: "I now send you..." The journey is not over for me; it has just begun. I praise God for bringing me to this day and look forward to acknowledging this next week. See you then!

Afraid that sometimes you just don't "cut the mustard"? The Kingdom of God isn't just for the hotdogs; it's for regular people, like you and me. The fun part is seeing what God can do with our lives. Learn more this Sunday, 10:00 a.m. at the Lucknow Community Church on Place Street. We'll be looking at Mark 4:30-32.
