Profession of Faith and Baptism
************************************************************************************************************Yesterday was a day of celebration at Lucknow Community Christian Reformed Church. We heard 5 people profess that they love Jesus and accept him as their Saviour - Catherine & Ken Brown, Justin Damsma, Jennifer Jurjens, and Julie Piel. After that, we baptized Ken & Catherine's daughter Emmaly. As we enter Holy Week, these events remind us again that Jesus went through all of this for US! Oh, how he loves us.

Who do you think you are?
Recognize this teen? Writes Calgary columnist Bryan Borzykowski, "The 16-year -old Canadian kid, in case you've been living under a rock, is one of the biggest musicians in North America right now." And Borzykowski says, "It may be just me, but I really want to hate Justin Bieber." He says it tongue-in-cheek, but there is something about one of our own making it big that irks us. Jesus ran into that same sentiment: A prophet is without honour in his own town. Today people are still asking, "Whom does Jesus think he is?" (see last week's Macleans.) This Sunday we listen as five people will profess that they believe Jesus is the Son of God and that he is their Saviour. And then we'll celebrate with a baptism and the Lord's Supper. Join us!

It's an emergency!
If you've sat in a hospital waiting room, you've learned to redefine what is and what is not classified as an emergency. When Jesus healed a man's shrivelled hand on the Sabbath, his opponents objected - they didn't see this as a life or death emergency. But Jesus knew that that is exactly what this was- our spiritual health is a matter of life or death. Jesus death = our life. Join us this Sunday, Mar 21, 10:00 a.m. Special guests: Men of Note choir.

One Sabbath...
One Sabbath, Jesus strolled into town and changed all the rules. It’s not what we would expect Jesus to do (WWJD?); rule breakers are not usually the most respected people – they weren’t in Jesus' day, and they aren’t today. That Sabbath pointed to another Sabbath – the rest that we enjoy when we are washed in Jesus blood. Baptism too, points us to that Sabbath rest. This Sunday, March 14, Gabrielle Joeda Drost, baby daughter of Jeff and Stephanie, is welcomed into God’s covenant family and into his Sabbath celebration. Join us!
