Coffee Break - women only!

Every Wednesday morning a bunch of women gather at the church on Place Street for a time of conversation and discussion over a cup of coffee. This week we will be watching a video titled, "The Bridge." It tells the story of a father who, while working on the controls of a railway bridge, sees his young son coming toward him on the tracks. At this moment the father must decide whom to save -- the train passengers or his son. Join us for this moving video; Wednesday, April 1 at 9:30 a.m.

Run for your life

A crown of leaves doesn't seem like such a big deal. That's the prize for which runners competed in the 1st century. We too, are in a race: we're running for our lives. In our desperation we can turn to Jesus; Jesus won a crown on our behalf -- it was a crown of thorns. That crown of thorns transforms death into life. Join us as we draw nearer to Jerusalem and to the events of Good Friday.

Teen Challenge

This Sunday we welcome the Teen Challenge Team to share their story with us. One of TC's core values reads as follows: "We believe that God is the catalyst for change for people with life-controlling drug and alchohol problems." When God steps in, we can expect an "extreme makeover." Join us this Sunday, 10 a.m.; bring a friend.

Another grandson!

Rushed off after church yesterday morning to meet the newest Klein-Geltink. Cole was born just before the church service - phone call came to the council room. Brian and Christine are doing great. Cole's cousin Nolan isn't sure what the fuss is all about. Thank you God, for this beautiful gift!

Stripped down

Jesus engaged in a battle of cosmic proportions on Good Friday. But instead of dressing for battle, he was "stripped down" and then mockingly dressed in a robe. Instead of asserting his authority, Jesus sets aside his glory. He does it for us. We share in Christ's victory only when we too, are stripped of all our pretenses and excuses. We come with empty hands, to be raised with Jesus in glory. Join us this Sunday, March 8 at 10a.m. as we consider the "unlikely weapons" Jesus chose to defeat sin and evil.
