None of us can fully understand God’s divine will. But there are some things we know for sure, for example, we know that while God is just he is also loving and patient. Our hope is in God, and that’s a better bet than crossing our fingers that maybe God might choose us as his own, better than swearing there ain't no heaven while we pray there ain't no hell (to borrow a phrase from Blood Sweat and Tears' 1969 hit.)
