Greed, or Avarice, is the 4th capital vice, or deadly sin. When we put our hope and trust in money and stuff, we are telling God that we don't need Jesus. God told Abram to "lift up your eyes and look..." (Gen 13). Only when we lift our eyes from our cheque books and balance sheets and look to God will we discover freedom and peace.
