When men say, "Watch this," they are often about to embark on some death defying feat. (ok, that's a huge generalization, but really, it's usually the guys, isn't it?). When Jesus performs his miracles, it's as though he's saying, "watch this! Let me show you what this Kingdom of God about which I've been talking, looks like." At baptism too, Jesus says to us, "watch this - see what it looks like to be washed in the blood of the Lamb." This Sunday, Jan 31, at 10 a.m. we look at the healing of the man who was lowered through the roof - the story is in Mark 2:1-12. We will also witness the baptism of Derk Adrian Askes.
