A road map can show us "the way" to get from point A to point B. But we can also talk about "the way" as being the means by which we make something happen. Jesus calls himself "The Way" (John 14:6). He is the way in both senses of the word - he is the way/route to our Father's house and he is the way/means by which we are reconciled to God and one another.
